San Francisco Unicorns Announce Schedule for Second Major League Cricket Season

The sophomore season of Major League Cricket (MLC) will begin on July 5, with the first of the Unicorns' seven regular-season matches taking place on July 7.

  • Matches will take place at MLC’s purpose-built Grand Prairie Stadium in Grand Prairie, TX, and Church Street Park in Morrisville, NC
  • San Francisco Unicorns’ new roster of international and domestic stars will play in the fast-paced T20 format.


SAN FRANCISCO, Ca. (May 7, 2024)
— The San Francisco Unicorns has announced its schedule for the second season of Major League Cricket, the United States’ first world-class professional T20 league, featuring some of the world’s biggest cricket stars.

The seven-match schedule begins on July 7 against the LA Knight Riders at the MLC’s flagship venue, Grand Prairie Stadium, in Grand Prairie, TX. The Unicorns will then play its next three regular season matches at Church Street Park in Morrisville, North Carolina, before returning to Grand Prairie Stadium for its final three regular season games. Playoffs and the Championship Game will take place at Grand Prairie Stadium.

The San Francisco Unicorns season schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, July 10 vs. Texas Super Kings (Morrisville)
Saturday, July 13 @  LA Knight Riders (Morrisville)
Monday, July 15 @ Seattle Orcas (Morrisville)
Thursday, July 18 @ MI New York (Grand Prairie)
Saturday, July 20 vs. Seattle Orcas (Grand Prairie)
Monday, July 22 vs. Washington Freedom (Grand Prairie)

Ahead of the 2024 season, the Unicorns has announced four new world-renowned cricket stars on its international roster: Australia national team members Matthew Short, Jake Fraser-McGurk, and Josh Inglis, and New Zealand right-arm fast-medium bowler Matt Henry. Further international roster spot signings will be announced shortly.  

The Unicorns, who will be coached once again by legendary Australian all-rounder Shane Watson, has also retained seven world-renowned cricket stars to its squad, including 2019 Cricket World Cup champion Liam Plunkett and highly accomplished United States National Cricket Team batting all-rounder Corey Anderson

Anderson will represent the United States at this summer’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will be held in the West Indies and the USA. Grand Prairie Stadium will host all United States Group Stage matches at the tournament, which precedes the second season of Major League Cricket. 

Opponents in the widely-anticipated MLC season include the Seattle Orcas, Los Angeles Knight Riders, Washington Freedom, and the Texas Super Kings—all featuring impressive international and U.S.-based cricket superstars.All six teams in the league will vie for the title of sophomore season champion, to be crowned in the Championship Game on Sunday, July 25.

Tickets for all matches will go on sale in the coming weeks and can be purchased through the official Major League Cricket website. Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets early by registering for the pre-sale to ensure they don't miss out on the action after sell-out crowds in 2023.
